What we can do, and how does it work ?
You will need to register with us. Please contact us by phone or email in the first place so we can explain how this works.
We collect on specific days from all pharmacies and surgeries in the area Silton, Mere, Gillingham and Wincanton.
Before doing the first collection on your behalf, we will ask you to sign a prescription authorisation form. We can also collect prescriptions on your behalf if you are pregnant or have children in the house and you wish to avoid unnecessary contact at surgeries and pharmacies. After collection we will deliver these to your home address.
Help with getting on-line deliveries set up
If you have never done an online shop and would like to set this up but need some help, please contact us and someone will ring you to talk you through the process. Please note, we won’t ever ask you to share your payment card details with us. If someone offers to assist with online ordering or setting up and asks for this, hang up and contact us.
Top up shopping (for those who are isolating)
We can also do some top-up shopping for essentials from local supermarkets (Waitrose and Morrisons) which we visit once each week.
Emergency vet appointments
We have a volunteer who will transport your dog to the vet in an emergency. This person is an experienced dog handler and has a vehicle equipped with transport crates. Please ring the vet to arrange payment prior to the visit.
If you are in need of any goods or services not covered here and you are struggling to connect with providers, please contact us and we will do our best to help you find a solution. We are in contact with a lot of companies and organisations and have access to details of local agencies which might be able to help.
Please give us a ring if you are concerned about a neighbour, relative or friend and want a welfare check or advice about which agencies can help.
Having Some Company
We know that being barred from spending time with others and being cut off from families can be very lonely and anxious. If you are on your own, or feel lonely, and just want to have a talk with someone, you can give us a ring for a chat. We are more than happy to spend a while chatting about this and that.
